About

Why NotNow exists

NotNow helps you get through the urge before you decide

NotNow is a lightweight tool for the moment when an urge feels immediate and your next choice still matters.

It is meant to be simple enough to open under pressure, and clear enough to return to again.

This started with one small pause

I built NotNow after seeing up close how hard these moments can be.

What helped was not more pressure or a perfect plan. It was a small pause at the right time.

NotNow turns that pause into something you can open and use again.

A simple tool for the minutes that matter most

NotNow is designed for the short window between the urge and the action.

  • A 10-minute pause

It gives the moment enough space to slow down before the next decision is made.

  • Small actions

Each step is meant to feel doable while the urge is still loud.

  • Something repeatable

The goal is not a speech. It is a pause you can come back to the next time.

Its scope stays clear

Keeping the scope narrow is part of what makes it usable in a hard moment.

  • Not treatment

It is not medical care, therapy, or a substitute for professional support.

  • Not diagnosis

It does not try to explain everything about you or your situation.

  • Not crisis care

If you are unsafe, in withdrawal, or in immediate danger, you need urgent real-time help.

  • Not a sign-up funnel

It is meant to help first, without turning the moment into a signup flow.

Starting with drinking urges

Drinking urges are concrete, time-sensitive, and often tied to familiar routines.

That makes them a clear place to build something small, repeatable, and genuinely useful before expanding further.

Lightweight by design

NotNow should feel easy to open without asking for more than it needs.

  • No sign-up required

You can use it without creating an account or sharing personal details first.

  • Private by default

It is designed to help in the moment without making your identity part of the experience.

  • Built for the moment itself

It is intentionally small, so it stays usable when attention and energy are limited.

Open it when the moment gets loud

You do not need a perfect plan. Start with the next small step.
